เด็กหญิงกะทิได้ไปนั่งเรืออีแปะเที่ยวไปตามลำคลองกับคุณตา และได้เด็ดดอกบัวเพื่อเอาไปประกอบอาหาร และคุณตาก็บอกว่า “ต้องดูให้ดีว่าเป็นบัวผันไม่ใช่บัวเผื่อนที่รสเฝื่อนขม” บางทีก็อาจมีกระจับลอยขึ้นเป็นแพตาจะเก็บใส่เรือเอากลับไปต้มกินที่บ้าน ดอกผักบุ้งสีขาวก็ดูสวยดี ตาบอกว่า“ถ้าเป็นศิลปินมีฝีมือแบบโมเนต์ก็จะถ่ายทอดลงบนผ้าใบให้สวยหยด”

A little girl named “Kati” was riding a boat along the river with her grandpa. She picked a lotus for cooking purposes. Her grandpa said to her “You should pick the lotus carefully, do not pick the bitter-taste one!”. He sometimes picked up some chestnuts floating above water. The morning glory also looked delicious. Grandpa said “If he was a great artist like Monet; he would convey his art excellence through a canvas.”
