ดอกสีส้มอมแดงบานสะพรั่งเต็มต้นที่ดูคล้ายร่มคันใหญ่ตัดกับท้องฟ้าสีคราม กิ่งใบส่ายไหวไปตามแรงลมที่พัดมาจากราวป่า แดดยามสายส่องผ่านช่องใบไม้ลงมาบนพื้นเป็นดวง ๆ อากาศเดือนพฤษภาคมแม้ยังคงร้อนจัดแต่ต้นหางนกยูงก็ยังยืนตระหง่านท้าสายลมและแสงแดดอย่างไม่อนาทรร้อนใจแผ่กิ่งก้านให้ร่มเงาเย็นสบายแก่เด็กหญิงที่นั่งไกวชิงช้าอยู่ใต้ต้นไม้ใหญ่ใบหน้าเด็กหญิงเปื้อนยิ้ม มองกลีบดอกสีส้มอมแดงร่วงลงสู่พื้นดินตรงโน้นบ้าง ตรงนี้บ้าง “ละไม” เสียงประสานเรียกชื่อจากเด็กชายและเด็กหญิงดังขึ้นพร้อมกัน เจ้งของชื่อถอนสายตาจากกลีบดอกสีส้มอมแดงที่ร่วงหล่นอยู่บนพื้นหันไปมองเด็กชายร่างบางที่เดินนำหน้าเด็กหญิงใบหน้ากลมเหมือนพระจันทร์ตรงมาหาเธอ “ไปกันหรือยัง” เด็กชายถามด้วยน้ำเสียงกระตือรือร้นเมื่อเดินมาหยุดตรงหน้าละไม “แหม! ดิน ทำเป็นตื่นเต้นไปได้ ทำอย่างกับไม่เคยเข้าไปเที่ยวป่าอย่างนั้นแหล่ะ” เด็กหญิงที่มาพร้อมกับเด็กชายกระเซ้าเพื่อน “เธอเองนั้นแหล่ะที่ตื้นเต้นกว่าฉัน ยายกระแต” เด็กชายสวนกลับไป

The crimson orange blossoms covering the whole tree looked like a gigantic umbrella contrasting the light blue sky. The leafy branches swayed along with the cool breeze from the forest. The ray of the sun slanted down on the earth through the hole of the branches making a lot of spots on the ground. The climate in May was extremely warm, but the flame tree still stood high in the wind tolerably. Its stretching branches gave a comfy shade to the girl who played her swing under the tree. Her face was painted with a smile while she was looking at the flaming petals falling down from the tree. “Lamai”, called from a boy and a girl. The girl named Lamai turned her face up from the falling leaves to see both of them. The thin boy and the round face girl walked towards her. “Shall we go?”, the boy eagerly asked . “Hmm! Din, you look so excited. It seems that you’ve never been to the forest before”, the girl nagged. “So you do, Kratae. You look much more excited than I am”, Din responded.

ความประทับใจที่ได้จากการอ่านหนังสือ เรื่องเด็กชายต้นไม้ ทำให้หนูประทับใจในความงามของธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อมในเรื่องมีการบรรยายบรรยากาศที่สวยงามร่มเย็น สร้างความสุขให้กับหนูเป็นอย่างมาก ทำให้หนูอยากวาดภาพ เมื่อถ่ายทอดความงามของธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อม ที่ได้อ่านให้ผู้อื่นให้เห็นและช่วยกันรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อม รักษ์โลกของเราให้งดงามเช่นนี้ตลอดไป

I was impressed by nature and the environment, especially the atmosphere in the book. It was pleasant and relaxing, so I would like to express the beauty of nature in the form of painting which probably inspires others to preserve the environment.
