ผลงานชิ้นนี้ข้าพเจ้าได้รับแรงบันดาลใจมาจากบทเพลงแว่นฟ้าเวียงพิงค์ซึ่งมีตอนหนึ่งของเนื้อเพลง สื่อถึงความงดงามทางวัฒนธรรมอันดีของชาวล้านนาที่ยังดำรงไว้ซึ่งความสง่างามทางวัฒนธรรม ในผลงานสื่อถึงงานปอยหลวงคือ งานบุญที่ยิ่งใหญ่ของภาคเหนือ ซึ่งจัดเป็นประจำของทุกๆ ปี เพื่อเป็นการจัดฉลองที่ยิ่งใหญ่ของวัด คำว่า”ปอย”มาจากคำว่า”ประเพณี”หมายถึงงานฉลองรื่นเริง ส่วนคำว่า”หลวง”หมายถึง”ยิ่งใหญ่”ดังนั้นคำว่า”ปอยหลวง”จึงเป็นงานฉลองที่ยิ่งใหญ่ หรือเป็นการฉลองถาวรวัตถุของวัด หรือฉลองสิ่งก่อสร้างของวัดที่ประชาชนช่วยกันทำขึ้น เพื่อประโยชน์แก่สาธารณะและประเพณีงานปอยหลวงมักจะจัดขึ้นในช่วงเดือน 5 จนถึงเดือน 7 เหนือ ซึ่งก็ตรงกับเดือนกุมภาพันธ์ไปจนถึงเดือนเมษายน หรือบางแห่งอาจไปถึงเดือนพฤษภาคมของทุกปี เพราะเหตุนี้ข้าพเจ้าจึงอยากที่จะสร้างสรรค์ผลงานที่สื่อถึงงานประเพณีและวัฒนธรรมล้านนาออกมาเป็นผลงานโดยอ้างอิงเรื่องราวจากท่อนหนึ่งของบทเพลงแว่นฟ้าเวียงพิงค์เพื่อสื่อถึงความรักที่มีต่อถิ่นฐานบ้านเกิดในดินแดนล้านนาไทยแห่งนี้
